Be unrealistic! "I see the world in terms of what I would like to see happen, not what actually does." Some of the greatest inventions would not have happened if people chose to accept the world as it is. Great achievements and innovations begin with a mindset that ignores the impossible. According to the CDC, from Jan. 1 to April 11, 2019 there have been 555 cases of measles across the US. Keep in mind, there are over 323,000,000 citizens in the US. In 2014 there were 667 cases of measles. And, in 2014, there was no national emergency called with criminal penalties for the failure to vaccinate against measles. Is measles contagious? Yes. Is measles deadly? Yes, but not in the USA for the vast majority of us. In fact, death from measles declined by over 99%-from the early 20th Century-  BEFORE the measles vaccine was introduced in 1963. There has been only one death from measles reported over the last 15 years and that occurred in a woman who was on immunosuppressive drugs. And, the woman had been vaccinated as a child. The measles infection was discovered on autopsy. The mainstream media (MSM) would have you believe that we have a national emergency on our hands. What can you do? EDUCATE yourself about vaccines. Know how effective (or Ineffective) they are and what is in them. Do NOT rely on the MSM for your information. Only then can you make the right decision for you and your family. vaccineimpact.com

Diet Tip: Take your time when eating. Once you feel full, remove your plate and engage in another activity such as reading, conversation, walking or a favorite hobby. If you struggle with the urge to continue eating, make yourself a cup of unsweetened tea or coffee. Don't eat again until the emptiness in your stomach returns. Food cravings you experience before your stomach feels empty are mental (not physical) urges to eat. healthyeating.sfgate.com

A new study from the Veterans Administration (VA) looked at the relationship between chiropractic care and opioid consumption in returning veterans. Of the14,000 individuals who had received at least one chiropractic adjustment they found that: One third of these patients were prescribed an opioid within six months of their chiropractic visit; Patients were more likely to be prescribed an opiate if they had moderate to severe pain; They were also more likely to receive an opiate if they had PTSD or depression. The chiropractic patients, though, had a significantly lower usage of opiates after their chiropractic visits compared to non-chiropractic patients. From the authors: "The percentage of veterans receiving opioid prescriptions was lower in each of the three 30-day time frames assessed after the chiropractic visit than before." Other studies show that chiropractic patients are less likely to use opiates and in areas where there are more chiropractors per capita, younger, disabled Medicare beneficiaries were less likely to obtain an opioid prescription. Another 2018 study found that chiropractic patients had a 55% lower chance of using opioids than did medical patients. It's clear that we need healthy, non-addictive solutions to chronic pain in the US. It seems that chiropractic can play an important role in helping these patients. chironexus.net

Just 1 tablespoon of chia seeds contains 5 g of fiber, 3 g of protein, 2282 mg of Omega 3 and 752 mg of Omega 6 fatty acids. A significant concentration of fiber combined with their ability to absorb 10 times their weight in water also makes chia seeds excellent for maintaining regularity. They're also extremely nutrient-dense, with one of the highest antioxidant concentrations of any known food! onegreenplanet.org
