"We forget that forgiveness is greater than revenge. People make mistakes. We are allowed to make mistakes. But the actions we take while in a rage will haunt us forever. Pause and ponder. Think before you act. Be patient. Forgive & forget. Love one and all. If you judge people, you have no time to love them." ~Mother Teresa academictips.org

The oceans produce over half the oxygen across the world and absorb 50 times more carbon dioxide than the atmosphere. The manufacture and disposal of single use plastics has significantly impacted the health of ocean wildlife and threatens the future of human survival. According to the EPA, practically everything can be recycled, but only certain items are accepted, and even then they have to be properly sorted or they still end up in the dump. Waste Management says, "Placing non-recyclable materials into the blue cart leads to additional economic and environmental costs, with no benefits and (ironically) less recycling. We call this wishful recycling 'wishcycling' and it is lethal to our nation's recycling programs." 500 pounds for every 2,000 collected at the curb is ultimately sent to landfills and not recycled. It is necessary for individuals to commit to recycling only the right things, in the right way. While cardboard is welcome, greasy pizza boxes are not. Paper is recycled but if it's shredded it gets stuck to glass bottles and becomes useless. "Many Americans are not very good recyclers. What we've lost sight of is that we should be reducing the amount of waste that we generate. Call your local recycling center to find out what your municipality recycles. articles.mercola.com

Chiropractic Care Tied to Significant Reduction in Opioid Scripts: In a new meta-analysis and systematic review, patients who visited a chiropractor for a musculoskeletal pain condition were 49% less likely to receive an opioid prescription than their counterparts who went to other healthcare providers. "Preventing opioid addiction and overdose continues to be a significant public health priority; and as part of a strategy to lessen opioid use, clinical guidelines now recommend many non-pharmacological options to be considered as front-line treatment ahead of any medication," lead author Kelsey L. Corcoran, DC, said. After reviewing all of the available literature on chiropractic use and opioid prescribing, the researchers selected six studies with a total of 62,000 patients to include in the current analysis. The findings were presented at the American Academy of Pain Medicine (AAPM) 2019 Annual Meeting. Who do you know that could benefit from chiropractic care?  medscape.com

The strong aroma of mint is very effective in opening up congestion of the nose, throat, and lungs, giving relief in respiratory disorders resulting from asthma, cold etc. Extracts from mint leaves have been shown to inhibit the release of histamines, which often spur on the severe nasal symptoms that are associated with hay fever and seasonal allergies. While mint oil is a good antiseptic, mint juice is also an excellent skin cleanser. It soothes skin, helps heal infections, itching etc., and is also good for pimples. Its anti-itch properties can be used for treating bites of insects like mosquitoes, honey-bees, hornets, wasps, gnats etc. organicfacts.net
