Be unrealistic! "I see the world in terms of what I would like to see happen, not what actually does." Some of the greatest inventions would not have happened if people chose to accept the world as it is. Great achievements and innovations begin with a mindset that ignores the impossible. The FDA recently released a warning to consumers and physicians about a contaminated blood pressure medication that's been tainted with a chemical known to cause cancer in humans. According to the FDA, the specific bad batch from Sandoz is JB8912, which includes "losartan potassium and hydrochlorothiazide 100mg/25mg tablets."  These tablets tested positive for a cancer-causing substance known as N-Nitrosodiethylamine, or NDEA for short. NDEA is not supposed to be in ANY medications. It's a light-sensitive, volatile, yellow oil that emits toxic fumes and is used as an additive, antioxidant, and stabilizer in gasoline and other industry materials. The FDA also reported about another voluntary recall of certain batches of irbesartan, which is an angiotensin II receptor blocker. There ARE plenty of things you can do to better manage your hypertension without having to take harmful medications that have side effects. Most importantly: stop smoking (or never start), maintain a healthy routine of physical exercise, and make the bulk of your caloric intake come from whole, minimally processed, and real food (veggies, fruits, clean protein, and healthy fats). naturalhealth365.com

Walking, jogging, running or sprinting on a treadmill challenges your heart, which is a muscle. Elevating your heart rate for 30 minutes helps improves cardio capacity and stamina. The American Heart Association and American College of Sports Medicine recommend 30-minute workouts on most days each week to improve and maintain heart health. livestrong.com

Chiropractic has stood the test of time. Many forget that "modern" medicine is relatively new. Many of its most popular (and profitable) drugs and procedures are often the subject of recalls, unintended adverse reactions or rushed to market with success rates that barely exceed that of cheaper, side-effect-free placebos. This is in sharp contrast with the scrutiny, longevity and proven history of the discipline of chiropractic. For over a century, chiropractic care has been pressed into service to revive the self-healing capacity of those who have exhibited virtually every named and unnamed disease or health condition. And while chiropractic care is NOT a treatment of any ailment or illness, it has never been the subject of a recall or even warning label. While the limitation of matter or other constraint may prevent the wished-for outcome, reviving one's ability to self-heal will never go out of style. chiropracticfortheworld.org

Oranges have been touted as a superfood and with good reason. They're loaded with herperidin, which has been shown to lower blood pressure as well as cholesterol. They have strong anti-inflammatory properties proven to ward off disease and fat. The Vitamin C in oranges helps reduce cold symptoms and the length of the common cold. The antioxidant properties in vitamin C also protect cells from damage and mutation, which can lead to cancer. Vitamin C has been shown to reduce the risk of almost every type of cancer. mydailymoment.com

HUMOR

As I get older, I realize: ~When I was a child, I thought nap time was punishment.  Now it feels like a mini vacation.
