Optimism Tip: If someone in your life adds a bit of optimism and positive energy to your life, then don't just return it to that person somewhere down the line. Pay it forward to someone else too. And together build a growing upward spiral of optimism, encouragement and compassionate kindness. positivityblog.com

Can you sing your way out of viral after-effects? Opera coaches and doctors are working together at Imperial College in the U.K. and have helped COVID-19 survivors get their breath back by singing. When a person breaks into song (particularly opera) they must hold notes for extended periods of time, engage their diaphragms and practice proper breathing techniques. These are all great exercises, it turns out, for treating symptoms of long-haul COVID. Breathlessness may last weeks or months after a person has recovered from the virus. Symptoms include fatigue, anxiety, shortness of breath, muscle pain, headaches, rashes and persistent coughs. This free U.K program consisted of hour-long Zoom sessions once a week for six weeks. The program data shows 90% of students in the pilot program reported their breathlessness improved, while 91% said their anxiety levels dropped. All participants said they would continue to practice the techniques when the program ended. smithsonianmag.com

Diet Tip: Never food shop while hungry! Always grocery-shop on a full stomach with a written list and a cart (heavy baskets trigger instant-gratification decisions, research shows). health.com

Cerebral Palsy Helped with Chiropractic: Four documented case studies were published in the Journal of Vertebral Subluxation Research. In each of these case studies the children were already diagnosed with cerebral palsy, secondary to birth trauma. And each of these children were found to have vertebral subluxations (misalignments in the spine, causing pressure on spinal nerves and less than optimal function). Chiropractic care was given to each of the children. The mothers and/or care providers of these children monitored changes in activities of daily living and quality of life. After 1 month of chiropractic care, all 4 children showed improvement in activities of daily living including mobility, feeding, and postural control. This study also showed improved changes in their coordination, gait (walking), sleep and appetite. Who do you know that could benefit from chiropractic care? healthfultips.com

According to the Univ. of Maryland Medical Center, the stinging nettle plant has been commonly used throughout history as a diuretic as well as treating painful muscles and joints, eczema, arthritis, gout, and anemia. Today, it's used primarily to treat urinary issues, as well as allergies and joint pain. Stinging nettle's anti-inflammatory qualities affect a number of key receptors and enzymes in allergic reactions, preventing hay fever symptoms if taken when they first appear. Simply make a tea from the dried leaves and enjoy the health benefits! draxe.com
