When you think about what you want in life, you can choose to feel positively or negatively about it. Since like attracts like, whatever feelings you attach to the thought is the energy that will surround your thought. If you think your job is boring and feel frustrated or unfulfilled, you create a life where work is frustrating or unfulfilling. Focus on the feeling of love in every situation, and you will bring more love into your life.

Last week we wrote about the Environmental Working Group’s (EWG) Dirty Dozen (The top 12 fruits and veggies that have the highest amounts of pesticides so it’s best to buy them organically). This week, we focus on the “Clean 15” list, also from the EWG, which identifies the non-organic produce least likely to be contaminated with pesticide levels. Try choosing and growing organic, but if you’re on a budget or your selection is limited, these lists help you focus your attention on avoiding the most contaminated fruits and veggies. Here is the 2023 Clean 15 List: Avocados, Sweet Corn*, Pineapples, Onions, Papayas*, Sweet Peas (frozen), Asparagus, Honeydew Melon, Kiwi, Cabbage, Mushrooms, Mangoes, Sweet Potatoes, Watermelon, Carrots. *A small amount of sweet corn, papaya and summer squash sold in the United States is produced from genetically modified seeds. Buy organic varieties of these crops if you want to avoid genetically modified produce.

Need to sneak in some extra exercise? Keep your yoga mat/weights/kettlebell by the TV. That way, next time you head to the sofa to watch your favorite show, you can instead squeeze in some exercise while indulging in an otherwise guilty pleasure.

Chiropractic adjustments can help your brain function better! If you are looking to make big life changes, chiropractic care can be a great foundation to starting that process! Dr. Heidi Haavik released an important research paper that talks about how neural plastic changes have been shown after chiropractic adjustments. In the past, chiropractic studies have shown changes in the brain areas, specifically the primary sensory cortex, primary motor cortex, the prefrontal cortex, basal ganglia and the cerebellum. This is important because normally people seek out chiropractic care when they have neck pain, headaches, or low back pain. What this study is showing is that patients with these symptoms got adjusted, and a side effect to the adjustments was a 20% change in brain function after just one adjustment! That group was compared to a "sham" or "control" group that was not adjusted, which showed no change in brain function. If you are looking to help your body function better and improve brain health, chiropractic is a very effective tool.

Studies show that consuming 1 to 3 oz. of aloe gel at mealtimes could reduce the severity of GERD and other digestion-related problems. When used as a mouth rinse, pure Aloe vera juice is just as effective at reducing dental plaque buildup as regular mouthwash. Just two tablespoons per day can lower blood sugar levels in people with type 2 diabetes. Researchers are currently investigating how aloe may play a role in different types of cancer, as well.
