Hundreds of everyday products are made with highly toxic fluorinated chemicals called PFAS (Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances). They build up in our bodies and never break down in the environment. PFAS can be found in about 45% of US drinking water sources, including public water systems and private water wells. Urban areas are most at risk of PFAS contamination in tap water and are likely to be found in taps in the Great Plains and Great Lakes regions, the East Coast, as well as central and southern California. PFAS, used in thousands of industrial and consumer products for decades, has been linked to cancer and other public health problems. The Environmental Protection Agency recently proposed limits for PFAS in drinking water of no more than 4 parts per trillion. It also proposed to limit four other types of PFAS. The EPA expects to finalize the regulations in late 2024. The USGS (U.S. Geological Survey) study shows that these pose the highest human exposure risk in drinking water.

Healing is affected by Physical Nerve Stress: When the spinal bones are improperly aligned (subluxations) this causes a physical form of nerve stress that adversely impacts the body’s healing potential. The stress hormone, cortisol, elevates when physical nerve stress creates a deficiency in proprioception (your body's ability to sense movement, action, and location). This disrupts brain signaling and therefore disturbs the body’s potential for healing. Daily trauma (sports activities, common accidents at home) are known as macro traumas. Less noticeable traumas including repetitive motions, improper sleep habits, and bad posture are referred to as micro traumas and also cause spine and nervous system damage. Poor posture also degrades the health of the spine and consequently leads to the degrading health of brain and organ function. The brain, spinal cord, and all organs are critically reliant on the health of the spine for optimal function. Make sure to get your spine checked by a chiropractor regularly so you can function at your best!
