Once you wake up to your potential help others awaken to theirs, help others see, be the light for others who are wandering in darkness to mediocrity. Help others to see their greatness and yours shall be awakened. Greatness is not what you get, but what you give, and what you inspire in others to do.

The first twin study of its kind suggests that taking daily protein and prebiotic supplements can improve scores on memory tests in people over the age of 60. The double-blinded trial involved two cheap plant fiber prebiotics that are available over the counter around the world. Prebiotics are non-digestible consumables that help stimulate our gut microbes. One is called inulin, and it is a dietary fiber. Another is called fructooligosaccharides (FOS), and it is a plant carbohydrate often used as a natural low calorie sweetener. Researchers in London enrolled 36 twin pairs over the age of 60. Each duo was randomly split so that one twin was assigned a daily prebiotic in a protein powder and the other was assigned a daily placebo in a protein powder. The twin who unknowingly took inulin or FOS generally scored higher on a cognitive test three months later. The daily fiber supplements were also positively linked to slight changes in the gut microbiome between twins. The beneficial Bifidobacterium, for instance, were more plentiful in twins taking inulin or FOS.

Tidbit #3: Exercise Tip

Make your own food. Look at this as a labor of love… one that will have you moving around the kitchen and burning calories, rather than waiting in line at a cafe or sitting at a restaurant while others do the busy work to serve you.

In a study published in Chiropractic and Manual Therapies, researchers looked to see if a single chiropractic adjustment (which affects the Central Nervous System) could have a positive effect on the immune system. And they found that it did! Your immune system is responsible for killing the virus that causes the common cold and supporting it is the only way to speed the healing process and stay healthy. Good hygiene, proper diet and nutrition, and getting enough sleep, all play an essential role in supporting your immune system. If the master control system of the human body (the Central Nervous System) is being stressed, then those systems intimately involved with it (the immune system) will also be affected. If we support the nervous system through proper spinal function and alignment, then we will ultimately support and strengthen the immune system. Who do you know that could benefit from chiropractic care?

Echinacea tea remains one of the healthiest and most versatile teas for treating and preventing a wide variety of ailments, including cold, flu, bladder infections, ear infection, respiratory conditions, arthritis, allergy symptoms, premature aging, and exhaustion. It also has anticancer potential. Along with those benefits, there are some side effects, but these are generally related to those who are specifically allergic to echinacea, or other related plants, such as ragweed and marigold.

"You must give some time to your fellow men. Even if it's a little thing, do something for others - something for which you get no pay but the privilege of doing it."
